Everything You Need To Know About Lash Refills

So you’ve just gotten your first full set of lashes and the past 3 weeks have been bliss, you’ve been rolling out of bed and strutting the streets feeling like Beyonce, telling anyone that will listen ‘I woke up like this’.
Now you’ve noticed your lashes are looking a little less full.. so what now?

Lash refills every 2-3 weeks are essential to keeping your lashes looking their best. There is no ‘one fits all’ in regards to how long to wait between refills. Depending on your aftercare and natural lash cycle you may need one after 2 weeks, or you may need one after 4 weeks. The best thing to do is ask your lash artist. We are always 100% honest with our clients, after all its our work you are walking around with on your eyes, we want what’s best for your lashes!
Many people do not realise that like the hair on their head, your lashes shed daily! You lose about 2-6 lashes a day, you rarely notice as they are so fine and thin. Once you lose a natural lash (that has an extension on it) a new one grows in its place.
At an hour refill we will remove any outgrown lash extensions that have moved halfway up your natural lash as its grown. Then we pop a new extension/fan on any of the lashes currently without an extension. We apply as many as we can in the hour.

If you are leaving your refill longer than 4 weeks you are going to be leaving your refill appointment with a lot of natural lashes without an extension, as there is only so much we can do in an hour. This means your lashes are not at their fullest potential. They may look fine leaving but don’t forget a lot of those lashes are going to shed, which could happen in the next week. Because you don’t have many lash extensions on it will be more noticeable when a few shed. If you continue to leave longer than 4 weeks between fills your lashes will begin to become less and less full as time goes on. The only option at that point is to have a full set so we can lash every single natural lash again. So make sure to keep on top of your lash refills!

We also offer a 30 minute refill which I like to call a lash emergency refill. This is for those times when you are about two weeks since your last refill and you have an event at the weekend that you want your lashes quickly topped up for to really fill them out. You can continually have a 30 minute refill every 2 weeks if it suits you better time wise than an hour refill BUT I do recommend every 2-3 refills to go for the hour to keep them full as sometimes 30 minutes just isn’t enough time when you are removing grown out lashes too.

Also remember, if you are arriving to your appointment with unclean lashes, that means we will need to clean them for you before your appointment, this will take away from YOUR lash time, less lash time = less lashes applied. Always make sure to wear NO eye makeup to your appointment. Eyeshadow/foundation/bottom lash mascara that has transferred to your lashes mean your extensions wont last as they are being applied to slipperly lashes.
